Roma vs Juventus
Roma hasn’t started the new season as expected as they failed to beat Hellas Verona in the opening round. The game ended in a draw, however, the home side fielded an ineligible player, Amadou Diawara, and the Italian FA awarded the 3:0 win to Hellas Verona. Paulo Fonseca’s side finished last season in 5th place, eight points behind their fierce rivals Lazio. Edin Dzeko and the lads have been very productive in front of the oppositions’ goal, as they scored 77 times, but their poor defending cost them the place in the Champions League group stage. Roma has been playing pretty well at home ground lately, as the hosts missed the chance to win just once in the last four occasions. However, this is going to be one of the toughest challenges for the home side, and they need to search for points in this game. Juventus is the defending champion of the Serie A since the visitors finished one point ahead of Inter last season. However, the title race wasn’t that exciting since the Bianconeri secured the title four rounds before the end of the championship. They kicked off a new campaign with a secure 3:0 win over Sampdoria at home, and it is going to be their first serious challenge this season. Miralem Pjanic and Gonzalo Higuain left the club during the transfer window, while Juventus signed Arthur, Felix Correira, and Alvaro Morata. The away side is looking forward to keeping up where it left off and book another vital victory in the title battle.
Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction
Although it is one of the Italian greatest derbies, and they are always tricky to predict, Juventus is considered as a favorite in this match. We believe the visitors will meet the expectations and get back home with a win.
Goals Market Prediction
Both sides have been involved in high scoring matches lately, while their latest head to head clashes have also been a joy to watch. We believe both teams should be capable of scoring in this one. Despite winning the Serie A title last season under Maurizio Sarri’s guidance, the club opted to sack the Italian due to their poor Champions League showing in favour of bringing in former star Andrea Pirlo. Having not coached at the highest level, Juventus will be hoping the respect Pirlo will demand due to his remarkable playing career can get the best out of the players. Gunning for their 10th straight title and to challenge hard for the Champions League, it’ll be fascinating to see how he fares and how he sets out his team. Securing some impressive new signings in the form of Arthur, Weston McKennie and Dejan Kulusevski, they’ll be hoping this will rejuvenate the squad. Dealing with some big departures such as Gonzalo Higuain, Miralem Pjanic and Blaise Matuidi, losing this experience and quality in midfield especially will take some replacing. Crucially, Pirlo’s got a strong support team around him in the form of Igor Tudor, Roberto Baronio, Antonio Gagliardi and Paolo Bertelli, which should massively help him. Seeing how Cristiano Ronaldo performs under the former legend will offer much intrigue, as they’ll be heavily relying on the Portuguese superstar to inspire them to glory. Courtesy of Wiki: Meanwhile, on the defensive end, they should be a tough nut to track, with Wojciech Szczesny in goal being flanked by the likes of Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, Matthijs de Ligt, Merih Demiral and Alex Sandro. With the likes of Inter Milan, Lazio, Napoli and Atalanta set to provide fierce competition, Juventus certainly won’t have it all their own way despite being priced at a short 1.90. One thing’s for sure, though, all eyes will certainly be on Pirlo, eagerly awaiting how he goes in his first campaign with the mighty Juventus. Inter Milan vs AS Roma odds, preview and predictions 25/04/2015
Saturday 25/04/2015, 18:00, Italy Serie A, Round 32 Inter Milan vs AS Roma Preview Inter Milan failed to win at home the city derby but at least they prevented AC Milan from closing in on the leading pack. They could've very well caused the rivals to miss out on a season in Europa league, something that will happen to them as well. Inter Milan vs AS Roma Odds At Betfair Inter Milan 2.40, Draw 3.20, AS Roma 3.10 Inter Milan vs AS Roma Tips The hosts will take on AS Roma and having home pitch advantage should grant them the first chance, but Inter Milan was far from impressive this April. Scoring goals has been a major problem for them and with only Icardi meeting expectations, it comes as no surprise that they are on the verge of sinking in the second half of the standings. AS Roma was disappointing in front of its fans and failed to win against Atalanta, but their defenses held on and should be fine against Inter Milan. At least on paper they will have the more offensive starting formation, with three strikers and four midfielders, as they have more to lose. Lazio overtook them in the standings and if nothing changes until the end of the season, it will be their city rivals to advance to the Champions League groups directly. Inter Milan vs AS Roma Prediction AS Roma is not going to have an easy mission in Milan, but at least they are motivated to claim all three points and encounter a team that is struggling heavily on the offensive end. This makes odds of 1.60 decently good for a double chance bet with Betfair. Bet: AS Roma or Draw @ 1.60 with Betfair www.casinoreviews.casino
Hello everyone, I've had the idea of starting a weekly or bi-weekly thread to add some content and discussion to these forums for a bit now. And after an important win like we had on Monday, this seems like an opportune time to start this up. I would like to have these threads discuss recently played games and serve as a look ahead or preview for upcoming games. And maybe we could also have these serve as a questions thread as well, as I don't think this subreddit is currently large enough to necessitate multiple weekly threads. So in addition to game discussions anyone could feel free to ask whatever they want in regards to our club/league/national cup/continental competition, or anything that would make sense in a Napoli subreddit. This is all assuming that there are people out there that want these kinds of threads, so try it out and see how this goes!
Napoli won in Rome against Lazio for the first time since the 2008-2009 season, which was a crucial win to get morale back on track after our 3 back to back defeats against Juve (away), Parma (home) and Borussia Dortmund (away).
As it usually happens in Naples, the team can go from being considered unstoppable to a complete and utter disaster after a couple bad games; this negative streak was no different.
The team and coach came under heavy criticism after being hailed as one of the best teams in Europe only a couple weeks earlier. Higuain was being called a flop, and Benitez stubborn and unwilling to adapt to the Serie A with his "casual" training regimen being too easy and unfit for the league.
Of course now after we've won the game against Lazio, Higuain is a star again and Benitez a master tactician.
It's a tiring and harmful atmosphere that surrounds the team, but thankfully we have good leaders within the group that keep everyone focused on what's important: performing well and winning games.
And for the most part, we have performed well this year. Very well considering just how many changes we've gone through as a club over such a short period of time. We have many new players, a new formation, new tactics and are trying to fight for both the Scudetto and advance in the Champions League from a group of death. All things considered, it's a positive season. And speaking of Champions League, the win against Lazio leaves us with only Udinese to play at home before our final group stage match in which we need to pull off a miracle to advance. Here are some bullet points from UEFA.com explaining what each team in Group F needs to advance.
Olympique de Marseille
• Arsenal will clinch qualification, and top spot, with a draw or a victory. • If Dortmund fail to win, Napoli will advance with a victory – in the event of a three-way head-to-head on 12 points, the two qualifiers will be decided by the precise scorelines between the three teams. • A draw is only enough for Napoli if Dortmund, who have a superior head-to-head, lose. If Napoli lose they are out. • Dortmund are through if they win. Should Dortmund draw, they will progress if Napoli do not win. Dortmund can only afford to lose if Napoli are also beaten. • Marseille will be fourth. Not impossible, but far from easy. The only sure fire way we can make it through to the next stage without worrying about what Dortmund is doing is by beating Arsenal 3-0. This will allow both Napoli and Dortmund to advance to the next stage. While the Champions League game will most definitely be on everyone's mind, we cannot lose focus of the our next game against Udinese. Udinese is a tough team that is currently having a middling season. Though by no means should anyone think that they will be an easy three points. Udinese's last game was away to Juventus in which they held Juve to a 0-0 result until the last minutes of the game. They also managed to beat Fiorentina at home in round 13.
Team Formation News:
Hamsik is not yet ready as of this moment, and will very likely not be rushed to play in the Udinese game. He could play against Arsenal, but at the moment he has yet to take part in any team training; Today he only had training in the gym.
Aside from injuries, we should expect to see a few changes compared to the Lazio game which is in line with Benitez's philosophy, and makes sense considering the CL game in the midweek.
Britos is suspended for the Udinese game, and the likely candidate to substitute him for Saturday's game is Fernandez.
Everyone wants to see the new signing Revelliere start in place of Armero, but the current rumors are stating that we will not see that happen against Udinese, but a cameo appearance in the second half is more likely.
If Revelliere doesn't start on Saturday, but gets a decent chunk of game time, I could see him start against Arsenal. (This is more of a hope than a prediction, Armero is not okay as a left back).
Expect a change in the midfield, as the rumors are pointing to Dzemaili taking the place of Behrami.
Both Mertens and Insigne are vying for a starting place in the squad. Considering Insigne started against Lazio with Mertens coming in the second half, it would be a safe bet to expect a role reversal with Mertens starting.
For the moment this seems to be the only question mark up front as Pandev looks set to take Hamsik's place and Callejon and Higuain are not expected to be rotated.
Okay, that should do it as a first post! This thing is already huge and I'm not sure anyone is actually going to read it, so let's see how this does first. Obviously if anyone has any comments, suggestions for the next one (if there is one) or criticism feel free to let me know.
I would have liked to touch on the transfer market rumors/objectives, but this is already too long as it is. Maybe I'll do one just before the Champions League game just for the transfer window. Our objectives for January are what they are, (DEFENDERS AND MIDFIELDERS ABOVE EVERYTHING ELSE) but the amount of money we actually do spend is likely very dependent on whether or not we make it through to the next round of the Champions League.
More on that later. Sorry if the formatting wasn't that great, this is the first time I've done something like this on Reddit, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to present this. Thanks for reading!
